BeYou June Update
Hey there, BeYou friends! We’re back today with another update for you. We’ll be sharing new pictures of the base including some good-looking stats. You’ll also get to see that there are just a few stages left for the chair.
Finalized Base Mold
Last time we were focused on the fine machining of the mold. Great news: it’s done!
And we used it to create the final version of the base. You can see some pictures below.
The final version of the base has already been carefully tested. Right now, the maximum weight the base can hold is 900 kg (almost 2000 lbs).
This is great news already, but we want to make sure the chair will easily pass the BIFMA testing. So after some tweaks will be made, the base will support even more weight. We expect these tweaks to be the last ones regarding the base.
Watch the video below to see how the test was done.
Although the characters you’re seeing are Chinese, you can still easily follow the graph and the weight being put on the chair in the yellow box on the left. And you can even hear when the base cracks at around 900 kg (almost 2000 lbs) of pressure.
The BeYou Chair is Nearly There
There isn’t much to say here this time, but this is essential: we’re currently working on the final very small adjustments on the chair.
We expect the next sample to be the last one before sending the chair to the testing and certification center!
You can also see in the timeline below that there are very few stages remaining.
Updating the Website
Now that we have on hand the sample that is almost final, we are in the middle of planning a photoshoot to update the pictures on the website too.
Our content team is putting together a shot guide with everything we need. After that, the photoshoot will take place, the pictures will be edited and the website will be refreshed.
We’d like to emphasize that we highly value transparency and we’ve always been open regarding our progress.
All the new pictures will be available on our website as soon as possible.
BeYou Rough Timeline Estimates*
- Mid-July - final tweaks to base mold and chair
- Second half of July - have golden samples** completely finalized and sent to the testing center. Start of official testing and certification.
- First half of September - expected kick-off of mass-production.
- September*** - packaging, dispatch to fulfillment warehouse and the start of fulfillment.
* As always, these are still estimates, and every stage of the process is subject to a QC audit. If any other challenges or delays come up along the way, we will inform you so that you are always aware of the progress we are making behind the scenes.
** Golden Samples are exactly the same as the final product, in every single way. The Golden Samples set the standard for mass production and are used by the factory and Quality Control (QC) agency to compare with products taken randomly from the production line to make sure they’re 100% identical to the standard we (and you) expect from the BeYou chair.
*** We hear you. We feel you. Some of the delays have been difficult to deal with. This is why we increased the estimated timeline a bit, to account for anything unforeseen. We aim to surprise you, but for now this is the new official estimated timeline.
Getting in Touch
As you know already, our correspondence volume tends to increase after each update. So please bear with us, it might take us a bit to respond over the next few days.
Please refrain from following up. That will push your message to the end of the queue.
