First off, Happy New Year! We hope your 2023 started great and will continue to be filled with happiness, kindness & purpose.
Secondly, we know you’ve been waiting for our first 2023 product update. And because strong essences are kept in small bottles - we’re here with a shorter-than-usual update full of exciting news 🤩.
So let’s get to it!
BIFMA Certification
We’re proud to announce that we have it! 🥳 The BeYou chair is now BIFMA certified.
As a reminder, for those who may not know, the SGS BIFMA certification program is designed to enable manufacturers to demonstrate that their products meet BIFMA's safety and durability standards. In addition to that, it supports architects, designers, B2B buyers and consumers in the easy identification of products that are safe, have been tested and can be trusted.
The Molds Are Done!
In December we mentioned that we started working on the molds while the BeYou chair was undergoing the certification tests. As a result of that - we now have ALL 72 molds ready! You can see below some pictures with a few of the molds and the molds tests.

Metal parts

Plastic parts
Most plastic parts are used for pleasant aesthetics and user safety. However, in addition to that, our engineers have used some of the plastic parts as a protection bridge between 2 metal parts. This technique doesn’t allow the metal parts to corrode or dull.
Note: You will notice that some, if not all the plastic parts shown in the photos are white. That’s because they are mold test parts that have not been colored (not final ones). All parts will be painted and crafted accordingly afterwards, so the chair will look like you have seen in our previous update, and on our website.






Wooden parts
Note: The wood as you see it in the below videos and picture is not finished. These videos are only reflecting the processing of the materials. Finishing touches have not been applied to the wood you’re seeing in the next pictures and videos.

Next Update & Next Steps
As we mentioned in the beginning, this is a shorter-than-usual update. That’s because our team is putting together what will probably be the longest, fullest update in the history of BeYou 😁.
That is because we have a lot of great news to share, regarding the status of the project, the shipping, along with an overview of our whole journey, since everything is 99% done. Just so you know, we will be posting it sometime between mid - end of February.
We know this adventure has been keeping you on your toes and we promise you - it’s all worth it!
Our colleague, who is still in China, has shipped over 1 final (certified, thank you very much 😎) sample, that we will use to create more photos and videos of the amazing BeYou chair and share them in our next update.
The sample has already arrived, which means our team will start shooting new content and visuals.
Address and Color Changes
To prepare for collecting shipping charges, we’ll use a special platform. It’s very easy to use and we’ll release a complete step-by-step guide when we get to that part.
Because we’re currently preparing the data to be imported into this platform, no address or color changes can be made at this moment by our Customer Happiness team.
But the great news is all these changes will be super easy to make yourself on the platform. You’ll see everything about your order and it only takes 2 clicks to change your chair color and any details of the shipping address.
This also gives you total control over the accuracy of your shipping details.
In short, if you need to make any changes to your shipping details, you’ll be able to do that as soon as we release the next update, in about a month.
Everyone will need to check and confirm their shipping details as part of finalizing your pre-orders. We’ll be back with full instructions in the next update!
The Estimated Shipping Timelines
* As always, these are still estimates, and every stage of the process is subject to a QC audit. If any other challenges or delays come up along the way, we will inform you so that you are always aware of the progress we are making behind the scenes.
** We hear you. We feel you. Some of the delays have been difficult to deal with. This is why we increased the estimated timeline a bit, to account for anything unforeseen. We aim to surprise you, but for now this is the new official estimated timeline.
